We are thrilled to announce that with version 11.13, our on-premise environments now fully support IPv6! This enhancement aligns with our commitment to providing cutting-edge technology solutions and ensuring compliance with evolving internet standards.
What is IPv6?
IPv6, or Internet Protocol Version 6, is the latest version of the Internet Protocol designed to replace IPv4. It offers a vastly larger address space, improved network efficiency, better security, and future-proofing for the growing number of internet-connected devices.
Key benefits of IPv6:
- Expanded address space: IPv6 provides approximately 3.4×10³⁸ unique IP addresses, accommodating the increasing number of devices and users.
- Improved network efficiency: Simplifies packet processing and routing, leading to more efficient network operations.
- Enhanced security: Designed with security in mind, including mandatory support for IPsec.
- Future-proofing: Ensures your network can scale and remain compatible with new technologies.
Availability
The IPv6 support is live as of version 11.13.1, which is available for download on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

No action required
This update is informational only, and no action is required on your part. After extensive validation testing, we can confirm that on-prem code supports both IPv4 and IPv6 simultaneously, known as "dual stack," allowing for a flexible transition and coexistence. We’ve also confirmed that Jira Align functions correctly in IPv6 only workflows with IPv4 traffic blocked.
