Migrate a database to an existing environment

Restore an existing Jira Align instance’s database to an existing Jira Align instance:

  1. Ensure the two instances of Jira Align are running the same version.
  2. Ensure the instance of Jira Align that is the source of the database has manual login enabled. SSO can be enabled and manual sign in must be enabled also. To enable SSO:
    1. Select the Settings gear Gear in the top navigation bar.
    2. On the left side of the page, select Platform in the Settings section.
    3. Select the Security tab.
  3. Make a backup of the JiraAlign_CUSTOMERNAME database that you want to use on another instance of Jira Align.
  4. Make a backup of the JiraAlign_CUSTOMERNAME database that you want to overwrite with the prior steps database backup.
  5. Restore the database backup from prior step overwriting the JiraAlign_CUSTOMERNAME database for another instance of Jira Align.
  6. Manually sign in to Jira Align on the instance that was overwritten in prior step:
    1. Go to security settings and ensure Server Name is set to the correct value for this instance of Jira Align.
    2. Ensure the appropriate SSO Identity Provider and the other SSO settings are set for this instance of Jira Align.
    3. Go to the version page and enter the Jira Align license that matches the expected URL for this instance of Jira Align.
    4. Either disable Jira Align connectors on this instance of Jira Align or set the connectors’ connection settings as the data is secured specific to each instance of Jira Align.
