Epic imports tied to program selection and access
As part of resolving JIRAALIGN-4984, we discovered that the import page was not respecting program membership. Previously, users who did not have access to an epic due to a lack of program team or portfolio team membership could make updates to the epic by listing it in an import file. To correct this scenario, an epic listed in an import file will only be created or updated if it belongs to the same primary program selected in the Available Programs dropdown on the import page. Users can only see programs they have edit access to in the dropdown. We'll be rolling out this validation to other work item imports in future releases.
We've also improved the instructions on the import page to provide better clarity about the import process and advise users who don't have edit access to a program to contact their Jira Align admin for assistance.
