Program increment roadmap

About this report

The Program Increment Roadmap report provides a roadmap view of PIs and release vehicles in a scrolling timeline. A vertical red line on the roadmap depicts the current date. This report helps product owners, RTEs, and Scrum Masters visualize upcoming (and past) PIs and release vehicles to share with stakeholders, map out business objectives, assist with PI and long-term forecasting.

Use the toggle switch on the top-right of the page to display either PIs or release vehicles in the roadmap. To the right of the toggle switch is an icon to launch the color legend, which shows the health of the map items based on color codes.

When viewing PIs, click on a PI in the map to open the PI panel and edit its parameters; when viewing release vehicles, click on a release vehicle in the map to display a burndown chart of story points assigned to features, which can also be toggled to show estimated feature delivery.

Use the control buttons at the bottom-right of the chart to zoom in, zoom out, scroll the timeline left, and scroll the timeline right.

How to interpret this report

We have all heard the saying, "Time is Money," so use the roadmap wisely to stay synchronized, build value, and reach your delivery goals. Look for a balanced roadmap that provides optimum time for communicating and delivering new features without long time gaps that lead to missed commitments and uncertainty.
