Product management reviews all submitted ideas and makes a decision whether to accept or decline the idea. Product management needs to think about the benefits and costs of the idea, its implications, score the idea, and answer a few questions to assess what type of opportunity each idea is.
On the Innovation Scoring tab, the ideas are broken down by the following categories:
- New Innovations: All submitted innovations that are not reviewed and scored yet.
- Accepted Innovations: All innovations that are reviewed and scored by the product management.
- Shelved Innovations: All innovations that are reviewed and rejected by the product management.
Score or decline ideas from the innovation page:
- Select Strategy in the top navigation bar.
- On the sidebar, select More items in the list of options.
- Select Innovation; the innovation page displays.
To score an idea:
- On the innovation page, open the Innovation Scoring tab, expand the New Innovation section, and then click the idea you want to score.
- From the Category drop-down menu, select the category type to which the idea belongs. The following categories are available:
- Not Assigned
- Hold on to it
- Think on it
- Bounce it around
- Run with it
- Type the benefits, costs, and implications of the idea in the corresponding boxes.
- Under Scoring System, turn on the items, which are applicable to the idea.
Note: The total score is calculated automatically in the Calculated Score box. - To assess what type of opportunity each idea is, answer a list of questions. The following answers are available:
- Yes. 2 points.
- No. 0 points.
- Click Score & Close.
To decline an idea:
- On the innovation page, open the Innovation Scoring tab, expand the New Innovation section, and then click the idea you want to decline.
- Scroll down to the Reason you wish to decline this Idea section.
- Type the reason for why you want to reject the idea.
- Click Shelve.
